Characteristics of a Cancer Woman

Cancer Woman Personality

The true Cancer woman is a blend of many zodiacal styles. She is patient and nurturing, but can be a risk-taker when her mood demands it. She is part caregiver and part Devil’s advocate to those she truly loves. She is at ease both in crowds or all alone. Her changing moods and emotional states make her perplexing, but an interesting person to spend quality time around. Although she can be affected by those around her, this is a good thing when it comes to being able to drag her out of a funky mood.

Cancer Woman as a Friend

The Cancer woman may seem difficult to get to know, but once you have entered her realm of close friends you will appreciate the warmth and nurturing that is consistent with the sign. She is one that you can feel safe to be exactly who you are and tell all of your secrets. She will move mountains to try and help resolve issues for those she cares about. Avoid being critical of a Cancer woman friend. She will take it personally. She very well may forgive, but never forget.

Dating a Cancer Woman

The Cancer woman hates to feel as if she is wasting her time. Never assume that your chosen activity for a date is fine. Her choices in activities may seem eclectic, but not providing her with the activities she loves can be a real deal breaker. She is keenly aware of how limited free time is and wants to know that you enjoy the same activities, foods and dislikes. These to her are the ties that bind. It is all about bonding to the Cancer woman.

Relationships and the Cancer Woman

Long term relationships with a Cancer woman can be extraordinary for the right partner. She tends to be a home body and enjoys nights with candlelit dinners, snuggling for a movie or hanging out on a hammock on the patio. She can occasionally be moody, but that can all be wiped away with some soft music and cold glass of wine. Her nurturing side craves close communication with her partner. She needs to feel that you truly care about the things that are important and are happening in her life. She returns it ten-fold.

Love and the Cancer Woman

The Cancer woman is mentally keeping a scorecard, whether you realize this or not. She will only fully giver heart to the man that fits her criteria. You must be faithful, funny, organized, compassionate, optimistic and understanding that her moodiness comes from a place of disappointment or rejection. In many ways she feels too deeply for others and can feel the sting of rejection when people tell her she is too nosy or they simply ignore her sage advice. These are times she needs comfort the most. She is all about pleasing her partner in bed and is very open when she feels comfortable.

Characteristics of Cancer man

Cancer Male Personality

The Cancer man has a keen insight, almost intuition into those in his life. It almost feels as if he can read minds. He does this through his innate ability to watch and observe basic human behavior. He can be your best friend or worst adversary. He has no problems being sociable, but tends to be picky about his associations. His tendency towards sentimentalism makes it difficult for him to move on from inopportune and unhealthy situations. His ultimate goals are to have a family and creative job, but getting there can be an emotional battle for this zodiac.

Cancer Male as a Friend

Having a Cancer male friend means that you have made the cut in being loyal, mentally stimulating and non-aggressive in pursuit. They prefer to let you know when they enjoy your company and are put off by pushy people and behaviors. He will expect you to take his side in any argument. He will be deeply offended if you ride the fence or side with the opposition. His blend of adding fond memories to current events make him an outstanding party guest. He can keep a close group of people entertained for hours. He tends to seem to possess more wisdom than his age should allow.

Cancer Male as a Co-worker

The Cancer man views himself as the provider for the family. This means he will do everything in his power to do any job to the best of his ability. He is always willing to put in more than his fair share of work to make a project run smoothly. Stress is one thing that he does not deal with well and avoids at all costs. He is not one to run from a battle, but he will do his homework to make sure he is on the winning side.

Dating the Cancer Male

The hardest part of dating a Cancer male is keeping his attention. He has a strong need to feel affirmation and for his dating choices to prove that they are trustworthy. This is an exhaustive process that some women tire of quickly. He is always a gentleman, but will only open up completely when he feels that complete trust has been earned. His ultimate fear is of being hurt.

Relationships and the Cancer Male

A typical Cancer man will only establish a relationship once he feels sure there is full compatibility in trust, admiration and devotion. These are the times you have to make sure you are in tune with any habits that are annoying to the Cancer man. These can be a complete turn off. The slightest hints of infidelity will have him running. He is looking for a lifetime mate and loyalty is most important to him. He is seeking a woman that wants to establish a family, not party every weekend. Home gatherings, barbecues and get-together’s are his cup of tea. His list of social contacts is small, but if you are his special lady he will always make time for romance.

Love and the Cancer Male

Earning the love of a Cancer man is to have a partner that is completely devoted to your comfort, safety and overall happiness in life. His skill in the bedroom is nearly unparalleled with his ability to pick up intuitively on the needs and desires of his partner. He will never tire of romancing or being romanced. The Cancer man is considered one of the most tender and considerate partners in the zodiac. This is the one that will do all of those little household tasks without being asked because he wants to demonstrate his love.

About Astrology

The Basics of Astrology

The word astrology comes from the Greek words for “language” and “stars,” and it is therefore sometimes called “the language of the stars.” It is the study of celestial bodies and their influence on events and lives on Earth.

Beginnings of Astrology
Astrology is an ancient tradition. Archaeologists have found evidence that prehistoric humans were recording lunar cycles as far back as 25,000 years ago. As humans developed agriculture, they also studied the constellations and took note of which ones appeared during given seasons. Different star-groups were believed to indicate seasonal events like annual floods. The first undisputed astrological records were found in Mesopotamia and date back to the first dynasty (1950-1651 BC).

Different systems of astrology
Western astrology is the astrological tradition most people in Western countries are familiar with: Aries, Libra, Pisces and so forth. It is based on the “Tetrabiblos,” a 2nd century work by Ptolemy, who had compiled Hellenistic traditions that were in turn based on Babylonian astrology. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac that is based on the position of the sun.

Chinese astrology also has a zodiac with twelve different signs – but each sign governs a year rather than a month. Each year is governed by a specific animal: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Chinese astrology deals less with the stars and more with cycles of time, Yin and Yang, Chi, and the five elements (wood, metal, fire, water and earth). For the record, 2016 is the Year of the Monkey – and anything can happen during such a year.

Vedic astrology is also called Jyotish, which means “science of light” in Sanskrit. Like Western astrology, it describes the planetary movements at the time of one’s birth. Unlike Western astrology, Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac that is based on the observable positions of constellations.

Terms used in Astrology
The zodiac is the set of constellations that the sun passes through during its journey across the sky. Since the planets are more or less on the same plane as the sun, they pass through the same constellations the sun does. Those constellations are the signs used in Western astrology: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc. Since different cultures see different patterns in the stars, their zodiacs can have a different number of constellations, as well as different names.

Sun sign astrology is the simplified form of Western astrology used in newspapers and magazines. It determines a person’s sign, personality and fortune by the date of their birth. For example, anybody born between October 24 and November 22 will be a Scorpio.

Sometimes, a person will be born “on the cusp,” which means they were born within a few days of the sun’s transitioning from one Zodiac sign to another. Such people will be influenced by two sun signs. For example, someone born on November 23 is technically a Sagittarius, but because the sun had just moved from Scorpio, they will have some of the traits of someone born under Scorpio.

Technically, a horoscope is an astrological chart that shows the positions of the sun, moon and planets during a given event, such as a person’s birth. It will also include calculations based on the positions of those heavenly bodies. Most people use the word to describe an astrologer’s interpretation of the chart.

Zodiac Signs
There are twelve of these:

Aries the Ram (March 21 – April 19)
Taurus the Bull (April 20-May 20)
Gemini the Twins (May 21-June20)
Cancer the Crab (June 21- July 22)
Leo the Lion (July 23- August 22)
Virgo the Virgin (August 23 – September 22)
Libra the Scales (September 23 – October 22)
Scorpio the Scorpion (October 23 – November 21)
Sagittarius the Archer (November 22- December 21)
Capricorn the Goat (December 22 – January 19)
Aquarius the Water-bearer (January 20 – February 18)
Pisces the Fish (February 19 – March 20)

Some descriptions of the signs will include items like associated elements, qualities, birthstones, lucky colors, ruling planets and polarities. The elements are the four elements of antiquity: fire, earth, air and water. They cycle through the signs in that exact order, so Aries is a fire sign, Taurus is an earth sign, Gemini is an air sign and so on.

Zodiac signs also have qualities or modes that indicate how people handle stress and react to stimuli. The various signs can be cardinal, fixed or mutable, and they again cycle through those qualities. Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are cardinal signs; Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are fixed signs, and the remaining four are mutable signs.

There are two polarities and they are sometimes described as yang/yin, male/female, positive/negative. Signs having the same polarity can understand each other, while those belong to opposite polarities have trouble doing so. Odd-numbered signs like Aries are yang, while even-numbered signs like Taurus are yin.

Using astrology to find Mr. or Ms. Right
A lot of people use astrology to determine if their compatibility with a lover. Elements associated with the signs not only affect personality in good and bad ways, they can also indicate how compatible two signs are. Zodiac signs that share an element will have at least some traits in common. On the other hand, they might have shared weaknesses that can affect a relationship. Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, for example, are all Earth signs and understand each other – but they tend to be pessimists and can bring each other down.

As air can fuel fire, Air and Fire signs are compatible. Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius can thus match up nicely with Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Water puts out fire, so Water and Fire signs tend not to get along. Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces should therefore rethink dating Aries, Leo or Sagittarius. Air signs and Earth signs don’t do anything for each other; Air signs tend to be restless and Earth signs are anything but.

Fire signs and Earth signs tend to be the least compatible. There can be an initial attraction, as fire touches the earth and makes it sizzle. In nature, fire can penetrate deep into the earth and cause damage. Relationships between Fire and Earth signs can end just as badly.

Earth signs do best with Water signs. Water can moisten the earth and make plants grow. Relationships between Earth signs and Water signs can do just as well. As for Water and Air, they might clash, or they might be able to make their relationship work.
